Start Living The Life You've Always Wanted, Today

Have you ever said, "I'm going to start this on Monday" or "I can't do that right now, but when the circumstances are right - I'll do it" - you must have said something along these lines at least once, right? Well, I want to make a crazy suggestion to you - rather than wait another day, why not make plans to live the life you've always wanted, today? You don't have to make any drastic changes immediately, just start by engaging your imagination and thinking about all the cool things you could do, be or have in your life.

Actually, let's just start with this - What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? Where did you want to go? Where did you want to live? Thanks to pretty awesome advances in technology, people can now so easily choose to do work they love from pretty much wherever they want in the world. Use the Internet to your advantage - find ways to earn a living while traveling abroad or living in a new, extraordinary destination - it's not as hard as you think, and if Ka and I can do it while raising 6 energetic kids, trust me, so can you!

Start Daydreaming Again

Before you start making definitive life changes though, give yourself some time to just dream for a while - you know that staring into space thing where your mind wanders into all the possibilities of things you can do in life. Dreaming about what you want to do, where you want to go or where you want to live helps alleviate any fears you might have, gives you time to figure out how to actually make these life changes happen and though this process, you will come to realize - without any doubt, that your vision for your future is truly possible. By letting your mind wander, you can even discover hopes and dreams that were left by the wayside as you moved on with 'life' and 'work'. By doing this dreaming process, you'll develop an internal compass that helps point you in the right direction - the right direction for you :-)

You then need to crack open your laptop and start researching ways to make your dreams a reality. For example, if you want to start an online business, what type of business would you like to start? What do you need to do to start this business? How much time will you have to devote to your business? If you're feeling concerned about radical changes just start small and begin to balance your dreams with the practical realities of life, maintain control as you go and put together action steps towards making your dreams come true as quickly as you can.

Take One Step at a Time

When you're finally ready to implement important life changes, remember that it's not a race! Ka and I didn't become successful and get everything we wanted overnight, it's kind of a process, a journey towards a more fulfilling existence so when you make a plan, include as many small goals and milestones as you feel you need to. For example, starting an online business may take a few months or even a few years to build. The point is to keep taking small steps each day – and don't give up if you're not seeing huge advances right away. Just keep moving forward, follow your plan, make course corrections as necessary and know that eventually you will succeed! There's no need to pressure yourself to make it all happen this week ;-)

Also I want to add here, that you should do everything you can to try to align yourself with extremely positive people who support your dreams. We see so many amazing things happen with our program members which are greatly influenced by the support they get from like-minded people in our group. It's important to keep in mind that even though some people are well-intended in their criticisms, constant negative feedback in any form will profoundly affect your ability to follow through with your plans. This is why you should make sure the people you confide in fully support your vision and everything you hope to achieve in life.

Don't Be Afraid of Failure

This is a biggy. Most people experience failure in some way or another while on their journey - Ka and I did, it wasn't all smooth sailing, and it's nothing to be afraid of, because the persistent people who actually continue on their journey no matter what, are the ones who most often succeed and eventually even exceed their own expectation in the end. Understand that you may not achieve some of your goals and milestones as quickly as you'd like, and who knows, for whatever reason some maybe not at all, but the key here is to never give up. If you find yourself in a position where you're not sure how to move forward - just get it together, re-evaluate your priorities and look for other ways to meet your goals because it's entirely possible that some of the things you've set yourself to do might not still be necessary for you to achieve your bigger picture outcome.

We have to be honest with you and say that living the life you've always dreamed of will rarely come without significant challenges and leaps of faith. The fact is - just as in living the life you do now, circumstances beyond your control can and will occur. Use these challenging times to learn new things, grow as a person and help others pursue their dreams too - you gotta be hungry for this, really hungry.

Age isn't an Excuse

If you think you're too young or too old to make major life changes, that's a totally lame excuse. Age doesn't dictate how happy you should be - if you want to start an online business, travel the world, and finally live on your own terms, it doesn't matter how old you are! The desire to live a better life is a realistic goal no matter your age.

Besides, if you're a little older, consider your age to be an advantage - you may have more wisdom, or perseverance than you did when you were younger, so just do it today with all your heart and soul, and give yourself every chance at the life you truly desire - no more waiting :-)

Katie
