There's One Thing We Think We "Can’t Do" To Be Successful In Business, But We’ve Got It All Wrong…
When we start a business we can quickly become obsessed with “Hard Work”. There’s a misconception that a lot of people have, which is the harder you work, and the more hours you sit at your desk or spend in front of your computer, the more successful your business will become.
Now, I don’t want to discourage action taking, this is very important, but more often than not success isn’t about the hours you put into your business, but what you do with those hours that counts, and how well you’re able to perform is strongly related to how you take care of your body and mind.
There has never been a better time to be a business owner or entrepreneur. The problem for most new business owners and entrepreneurs though is how to balance business with pleasure and particularly, finding a way for ensuring there's quality time with family and for personal pursuits too. In most cases, people just starting out in business assume that relaxing isn't on the agenda for the foreseeable future. The reason for that thinking is simply a lack of time management, how priorities are chosen and the mindset the person holds first and foremost in their thoughts. As a result, many new business owners and entrepreneurs aren't aware of the significance of managing their time in a way that's well balanced and far too often, they believe it's the one thing they can't do if they want to achieve any real degree of success.
The reality of success is often heavily dependent on business acumen, however public presence and visibility can be very important as well. Successful business people know very well that their presence at networking events, online interviews or business engagements can be crucial to cultivating new relationships and developing existing ones too. It's always possible to meet potential new clients and forge new business alliances and associations while engaging in relaxing pursuits of all kinds, whether you're on the beach, in the city or anywhere in between! Just take a look at my videos on YouTube and you’ll see exactly what I mean!
For new business owners in all walks of life, time for more personal pursuits may seem to be the one thing they just don't have. Yet, it's definitely possible to start a new business and simultaneously enjoy the business with the kind of boundless enthusiasm that's contagious in social circles. A new business start up needs exposure, and this is a great way to share what you're doing with others.
No business owner can afford obsessing over their business to the extent that their vision for future business growth becomes clouded, and obviously owning a business should never be an obsession to the exclusion of any true semblance of living a full, rich life with family and friends which I consider to be the most important element of life. Therefore consider that every vacation away from the daily operations of your business as actually an opportunity to expand your horizons, focus on your vision for the future and feel grateful for all that you've achieved. After all, this is precisely when extraordinary inspirations abound for new possibilities in your work, relationships and personal life too.
